About Us
A bit more about our congregationBeth Zion Congregation is an Modern Orthodox Synagogue, located in the city of Cote St. Luc, Quebec. The synagogue was established in 1954 by a handful of individuals, and has since grown to a membership of well over 500 families. The facility includes a main sanctuary, a Beit Midrash, library, classrooms, gift shop, and 3 social halls with varying capacity. The entire facility is fully accessible to the elderly and the handicapped.
Under the guidance of Rabbi Emeritus Sidney Shoham (z”l), and our newly appointed Rabbi Boruch Perton, the synagogue has provided the community with spiritual guidance, and has been a source of inspiration to the entire community.
Daf Yomi, women Torah classes, youth and family programs have become integral parts of synagogue life. The Men’s Club and Sisterhood provide a wide scope of programs, ranging from social events, to guest speakers and breakfasts.
The Religious Committee is very active in making sure that the religious needs of the community are met. They have set up a Chessed program, through which members of the synagogue are available at times of need.
Family and youth programming highlight the synagogue’s commitment to the future of the Jewish community. Youth affiliations include NCSY, and Bnei Akiva.
